A finely modeled porcelain figure of Hermes, messenger of the Gods, measuring circa 14,3cm in height and weighing 166g, delicately painted in polychrome enamels and gold accents. Hermes was patron of shipping, seafarers and trade, and is depicted here with his aesaclopus, an anchor and a purse to refer to these patronages. Marked to the underside with R1762 in underglaze blue, probably Rudolstadt, early 19th century, Very high quality.
Condition: Aescalopus broken in his right hand, otherwise very good, no further damages or repairs. Minimal wear commensurate with age.
