This is the photobook Block by Finnish photographer Aapo Huhta, published by Kehrer Verlag in 2015. The book is a photographic essay offering an outsider's view of New York City, presented in a stark, almost monochromatic, dystopian style. The images focus on gray, concrete urban features and the shapes created by light and shadow, giving the city a sterile and depersonalized feel. It provides little narrative context within each frame, allowing the viewer to interpret the scenes. Huhta was selected as one of the Top 30 Under 30 photographers by Magnum Photos in 2014 and received the Young Nordic Photographer of the Year award in 2015
