Lene Regius (1940) - Vas - Keramik

A fine and bright colours glazed little ceramic vase, measuring circa 11,5cm in height and weighing 288g, signed Lene Regius. Lene Regius (1940) was educated by Lillemor Clement and Inger Folmer Larsen in 1958-1960 and at the School of Applied Arts 1960-1964. Together with her late husband Per Weiss, who was also a ceramist, they ran a workshop in Lejre that they started back in 1967. Lene Regius is very inspired by other cultures, which is also reflected in her expression. She has worked with the Japanese Nerikomi technique, where colored porcelain mass in pastel colors was combined to create various naturalistic motifs. In the 1990s, Lene Regius worked with expressive raku fired ceramic sculptures inspired by archaeological finds. Lene Regius has also made dishes and jars in a technique that she learned during a stay in Crete, where the glaze is in strong colors and inspired by mythology and has a three-dimensional effect. Lene Regius has also drawn inspiration from her stay in North Africa in the mid-1970s. The form of expression with colored glazes painted on larger surfaces has roots in both the English Arts and Crafts movement and the Danish Bindesbøl tradition. In 2024, Lene Regius stopped producing her beautiful ceramics. Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
