At the age of 29, he moved to Paris and adopted his grandfather's name, Le Corbusier, as a pseudonym. As an architect, he was innovative. He founded a new art movement called "purism," essentially a reaction to Art Nouveau and Art Deco. His LC1 design for Cassina is a prime example of this movement.
