Ingen reserve. Brahin-meteorit. Vacker pallasit. - 10.3 g
Beautiful Brahin pallasite with outstanding and unusually translucent olivine crystals. Pallasites are considered by many to be the most beautiful type of meteorite. They are thought to originate at the core-mantle boundary of differentiated asteroids. They were then shattered to space through another meteorite impact until they fell on Earth. Due to their beauty some of them are used in jewelry or as aesthetic decoration.
Brahin was first found in 1807 by two farmers in the south of Belarus. It is just a few kilometers away of Chernobyl and this event in 1986 contaminated the strewnfield of the Brahin meteorite. Fortunately only the first cm of soil are contaminated and not the meteorites. Still, looking for meteorites is dangerous so pieces are scarce.
A certificate of authenticity included. IMCA 5591.
