Chinese porcelain small blue white dolls house vase ladies –China- Kangxi period
On offer is a long shaped very fine Chinese porcelain blue-white Kangxi period small vase. This vase has an alternating decoration of a Chinese lady (long Eliza) and flower stem, with each decoration in a separate relief panel. Nice porcelain example typical from the Kangxi period. Provenance: From a North Holland collection.
About; In the late 17th and early 18th Century these small vases were very popular with the well-to-do bourgeoisie to show off. These vases also known as cabinet vases or étagère vases. The very small ones were put in dolls houses by wealthy ladies. The bigger ones, like this one, were often placed in specially made (rarity) cabinets for this purpose. Special small consoles were also often mounted on the walls to put them for display, often along the fireplace.
Date: Late Kangxi period ca. 1700-1720
Size: Height 7,3 cm. Belly measures ca. 2,5 cm across.
Condition: Excellent condition! No damage!
