Keltisk Druid Lunula-amulett (Utan reservationspris)

Attention: due to customs regulations we can only ship inside the European Union. Please ensure you have a valid EU shipping address before placing a bid. Celtic Druid bronze openwork pendant with a crescent terminal. Elongated shape, tapering towards the top with a drilled suspension hole. The lower section terminates in an openwork crescent-shaped element with slightly upturned ends, separated from the shaft by a narrow collar. The pendant is fitted with a modern suspension ring and mounted on a modern leather jewellery cord, allowing for modern wear or display. Size: ± 36,8 x 17,7 mm Condition: good solid condition, wearable. Surface shows green and brown patination and signs of wear consistent with age and use. Certificate of Authenticity (PDF) is available upon request for all lots with a hammer price of €100 or higher. Lunulae appear from the Bronze Age onward and continue in various forms into the Iron Age and later periods. In Celtic belief systems, the lunula (crescent shape) was closely associated with the moon and its cycles, symbolising renewal, fertility, and the rhythms of nature. Classical writers note that Druid rituals and timekeeping were closely tied to lunar cycles rather than solar calendars. Lunulae and crescent-shaped ornaments were often worn as protective amulets, believed to safeguard the wearer and promote balance between the natural and spiritual worlds. Their recurring use in Celtic material culture suggests a strong symbolic connection to female vitality, regeneration, and cosmic order, rather than purely decorative intent.
