Elegant antique Paris porcelain saucer / underplate, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1870–1890. The piece is richly decorated in a refined Renaissance Revival / Louis XVI taste, with a pink ground border, hand-painted ornamental scrollwork, birds, classical urn motifs, and extensive gilding. The central reserve features a gilt starburst medallion with delicate surrounding gold decoration. The outer rim is further enhanced with geometric gilded ornament. The size and form suggest that this piece was most likely made as a saucer or underplate, rather than a cabinet plate.
