The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden amber reddish color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 593 mm and the back 359 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm.
