Antik ekkista med originala smidesbeslag och nyckel, ca 1800

Massiv handgjord ekkista från tiden omkring 1800 (troligen Nordtyskland eller Nederländerna).
Kistan har handhugna hörnfogar, en rikligt skulpterad front med ett traditionellt fiskfjällsmönster samt originalt smidda järnbeslag. Det originala kasselåset finns, likaså den passande nyckeln. Låset fungerar. Inuti finns det typiska dokumentfacket.
Ytan behåller en vacker äkta patina som åldrats väl. Lock och kappa är stabila. Sprickor, nötning och tecken på korrosion är förenliga med dess höga ålder och förstärker möbelns autenticitet.
Ett dekorativt och samtidigt historiskt föremål med mångsidiga användningsmöjligheter, till exempel som täcke-, linn- eller förvaringskista eller som ett mycket distinkt soffbord.

Antique Oak Chest with Original Wrought Iron Hardware and Key, circa 1800
Large handcrafted solid oak chest dating from around 1800, probably of Northern German or Dutch origin.
The chest features hand-cut dovetail joints, beautifully hand-carved front panels with a traditional fish-scale pattern, original wrought iron handles, and the original lock with matching key. Inside is the characteristic document compartment found in period storage chests.
The surface retains a beautiful authentic patina acquired over more than two centuries. The chest is structurally sound. Age-related cracks, wear, oxidation of the iron fittings and other signs of use are consistent with its age and add to its authenticity and historical character.
A beautiful decorative and functional antique, suitable as a blanket chest, linen chest, storage chest or even as a distinctive coffee table.
