This Sansui BA-2000 immediately draws the eye with its twin illuminated power meters, deep black faceplate, silver level knobs and beautifully restrained 1970s styling. At 18.3 kg, it has the reassuring substance of serious Japanese hi-fi—easy to imagine glowing softly beside a turntable during a long evening of records. Its classic meter design and substantial construction make it especially appealing at auction.

[Appearance]

This vintage Sansui BA-2000 shows age-related wear, including light scratches, small marks and some signs of use on the cabinet and exterior surfaces. These traces are consistent with a component of this age and, rather nicely, give the amplifier a genuine period character rather than taking away from its presence.

The black front panel presents well, while the two large power meters, silver control knobs and lettering retain the unmistakable look of Sansui’s classic era. The rear speaker terminals, RCA inputs and original Japanese specification plate are also present.
