Hello Up for auction- this RARE (one of only 9,900 printed), first edition, first impression of Ian Fleming’s third book: Moonraker. (1955) This book is in extremely good condition -rarely found for this title. Regardless, this is a RARE book in superb condition, which comes in with a vibrant facsimile jacket to complete the in-the-shelf look, As the pics show, the book is in very good condition throughout, tightly bound, square and sharp with no bumped corners. No splits to the cloth boards. Internally the pages are clean, and bright and white without any writing or annotations. There is just a touch of spotting to the side edge page block, which can occasionally be seen to the extremities of the internal page edges, but other than this, the pages are pretty clean. This first impression is the corrected ‘shoot’ variant on p10. This is NOT a library book. As examples of this rare book go, this one is very much better than what is normally found. The silver foil in the spine and face of the boards is as bright as the day it was made.. Overall a superb example of a rare, and increasingly difficult to find first impression.
