The edges are finished with a luxurious border of wide ruched and pleated silk trim, adding both texture and movement. The cape features wide front panels without lapels in the modern sense, but with ruffled silk edging that frames the opening. These panels fall straight from the neckline and are secured by their original wide silk ribbons at the neck and waist. A softly gathered collar adorned with delicate rosettes completes the refined design.
