Description:
Beautiful and rare classical guitar hand-built by the renowned Dutch luthier Nico van der Waals in 1966.
Van der Waals was one of the most respected guitar makers in the Netherlands during the 1960s, known for his meticulous craftsmanship and balanced, musical tone.
Specifications:
• Top: Solid spruce
• Back and sides: Flamed maple
• Fingerboard: Ebony
• Tuners: Original, fully functional
• Action: approx. 3.0 mm (1st string) / 3.5 mm (6th string), with room for lower setup
• Re-fretted and newly French-polished
• Comes with a hardcase for safe transport and storage
Condition:
Excellent playing condition.
Some cracks in the top were professionally repaired and are structurally stable.
The fingerboard has been re-fretted, ensuring smooth and comfortable playability.
The instrument was carefully re-polished with traditional shellac (French polish), preserving its authentic vintage character.
Sound:
A rich, full and resonant tone with warmth and clarity — the hallmark of a spruce top combined with flamed maple.
