The Parker "Duofold Centennial was introduced to mark Parker’s 100-year anniversary (1888–1988)
The “Black & Pearl” finish (pearl-like acrylic veined with black) was added in November 1992 on the "Centennial".
This finish was designed to evoke a 1920s look: *“Delicate pearlized acrylic, veined with intense black, echoes the elegant style of the original 1920's finish.
Design & Materials
Material / Body: The pen is made from acrylic rods (methyl methacrylate)
Finish: White-pearl acrylic with black veining / marbling.
Trim:Typically gold-plated trim
Bands: On some examples, there are two cap bands, two barrel bands, and two section rings.
Nib (Fountain Pen):18 k gold** M nib.
Filling System (Fountain): with Parker cartridges.
Value / Rarity / Collector Notes
Because this finish (“Pearl & Black”) is relatively popular and visually distinctive, it's quite collectible.
The Pearl and Black finish is one of the nicest finishes … The ones … were made from 1995 to 2005.
