“The poster was created in 1944 to announce and celebrate the end of Nazi Germany's occupation of Paris, France, in August of that year.
It features a female figure, embodying the spirit of freedom and resilience, dressed in the colors of the French tricolour flag (blue, white, and red), lifting the burden of occupation.
It is considered a powerful symbol of liberation and victory from the Second World War”
