Joachim Brohm - Ruhr (MINT CONDITION, SHRINK-WRAPPED) - 2007

SCARCE OPPORTUNITY to purchase this VERY SOUGHT-AFTER and VERY BEAUTIFUL German photobook - in BRANDNEW CONDITION. Color landscape photography of the region around the river 'Ruhr' in the style and tradition of Stephen Shore, photographed in the 80ties, published for the very first time in book form in 2007. New, mint, unread; still originally shrink-wrapped in publisher's plastic foil. COLLECTOR'S COPY. THIS IS THE FIRST BEST-OF-PHOTOBOOKS AUCTION by 5Uhr30.com in 2026. With more than 100 great lots from my personal collection and from recent acquisitions. Jochim Brohm, who is also famous for 'Kray' recorded the decline of the surroundings of the Ruhr. Joachim Brohm’s photographic series Ruhr documents the German Ruhr area during its industrial decline from the late 1970s to the mid-80s. With this work Brohm became one of the first to engage with the issues raised by American photography – the landscape photography of the nineteenth century and the topographical photography from 1970 onwards – and transport them into a European context. Ruhr is an integral link between USA and European photography and its special significance is revealed with this first complete monograph. This is a lot by 5Uhr30.com (Ecki Heuser, Cologne, Germany).
