"Faces in Smoke" – by [TALASIMOVA]

In this painting, I wanted to explore the blurred boundaries between individuality and connection — where one face becomes another, where thoughts intertwine, and emotions dissolve into shared expression. The monochrome palette strips away distraction, allowing the lines themselves to tell the story — raw, unfiltered, almost confessional.

The cigarette becomes a quiet rebellion, a pause between moments, a symbol of both solitude and reflection. Each figure seems to speak without words — carrying fragments of longing, irony, or quiet resignation.

“Faces in Smoke” is about the complexity of being human — how we mask and reveal ourselves at the same time, how intimacy and distance coexist in a single breath.
