Through his works, he often chooses to represent historical or mythological characters like that of Flaubert in his 1862 novel, Salammbô. Bruchon's work is characterized by detailed decorative designs incorporated into utilitarian objects. Born in 1806, he exhibited in the Paris Salons during the 1880s and died in 1895.
