Hotei (布袋), one of the Seven Gods of Fortune (Shichifukujin 七福神), is regarded as the god of happiness, abundance, and good fortune. The karako motif is very common in Japanese art and symbolizes joy, prosperity, and good fortune; these child figures embody innocence and hope for the future. ---The okimono is in good condition.
