Suiseki Wasserstein (Scholarenstein) - Stein, Holz - Japan - Shōwa Zeit (1926-1989)
A charming suiseki 水石 (scholar’s stone) displaying a soft, milky pastel purple hue with a light matrix and subtle ochre accents. Presumably agate, polished to a smooth surface that enhances the natural colour transitions.
The stone is presented on a custom-made black wooden daiza 台座 (base), shaped to complement its form.
Approximate dimensions including daiza:
Height 29 cm, Width 27.5 cm, Depth 16.5 cm
Weight: 18.6 kg
Period: Japan – Shôwa period (1926–1989).
In very good condition. The wooden base shows some loss to the lacquer. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
