Woodland Café (Walt Disney, 1937) Caterpillar Couple Animation Drawing The Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphony Woodland Café was released to theaters on 3/13/1937 - a few short months before Disney's first animated feature film was released - and featured the titular nightclub that hosted bugs of all shapes and sizes, including a grasshopper band, spider and fly stage show, and the lovely caterpillar couple in this fantastic 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing. Notable animators on the short included Ward Kimball, Isadore Klein, Jack Hannah, and Dick Lundy. Both characters are full figure on each page, rendered in graphite with color pencil, and were created for roughly 1:56 in the short as they shimmy hand in hand across the dance floor. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint age-related toning, and light superficial wrinkles.
