Created under the Kansai Super Studio label, this kabuto display is known for its bold contemporary style combined with traditional symbolism. The design highlights the themes central to Yamamoto’s work, expressing courage, strong spirit, and determination. The side panels and helmet bowl feature dynamic raised dragon motifs, symbolising strength, protection, and success. The impressive maedate is crafted with a wooden dragon coated in gold leaf, giving the piece a striking and luxurious presence. The included wooden stand and title plaque complete the display. Kansai Yamamoto was one of Japan’s most influential fashion designers, internationally recognised for his avant-garde shows in London, Paris, and New York, and for his iconic costume designs for artists such as David Bowie. His “Higoma” series applies his distinctive energy and colour sense to traditional Boys’ Day helmet displays. Very good used condition with minimal wear. Please refer to the photos for details.
