Two Art Nouveau suspension Lamps, ca. 1890-1910, France
The mildly frosted shades have all the characteristics typical of Art Nouveau.
Frosted Opaque Glass with Swirl and Ruffled Edge positioned in a brass frame.
Old glass with air bubbles entrapped in the glass.
Note that a same type of suspension lamps are present at the house of Claude Monet in Giverny: in the bedroom of Monet’s stepdaughter, Blanche Hoschedé. Two pictures of this bedroom in Giverny are at the end of the set of pictures of this lot (just to give an impression).
The light bulbs are not included in this lot: it is to demonstrate that electricity wiring is in good working condition These standard type B22 bulbs are easily found for sale at (internet) stores.)
One shade has a very small imperfection at the lower rim (see detail photo).
One shade has imperfections at the upper edge but this is covered by the brass fixture (see detail photo).
These 2 Decorative Art Nouveau Lamps add a perfect detail to every interior.
