Seltene WWII Emaille-Schilder – Warnschild aus der Zeit der Nazi-Besetzung mit 'Halt! Stop!' und - Emailleschild - Stahl, Emaille
An exceptional and extremely rare pair of original enamel signs from the period of the Second World War, dating to the Nazi occupation in Central Europe (1939–1945).
Enamel Warning Sign – “HALT! STÓJ!”
Featuring the internationally recognized skull-and-crossbones motif, this sign was used as a stark warning on restricted or deadly-danger areas (such as concentration camp perimeters, minefields, or high-security military zones). The lettering in both German (“HALT!”) and Polish (“STÓJ!”) underlines its historical origin during the German occupation of Poland. The enamel is heavily aged, with original patina and rust, but the text and imagery remain strikingly legible.
This Sign is original enamel with significant age-related wear, rust, and corrosion, consistent with decades of exposure. Mounting holes intact. Unrestored and guaranteed authentic, these signs bear powerful testimony to one of the darkest chapters of European history.
