with signature and seal 'Shoko' 韶光
A commanding Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku) by Azuma Shoko (1922–2014), depicting three hawks soaring above a forested landscape with the majestic form of Mount Fuji rising in the background. The composition blends dynamic movement with tranquil grandeur, rendered in traditional Nihonga style with fine detail and atmospheric depth. The artist’s signature 'Shoko' (韶光) is boldly inscribed in gold mud (金泥), enhancing the visual presence and ceremonial tone of the piece.
