Altes Ägypten, Spätzeit Bronze Horus-Falke Tierfigur | Schweizer Sammlung von Dr. Halter

Egyptian animal figure in the shape of the falcon Horus, presented on a wooden base. Material: bronze Date: 1st millennium BC (Late Period) Dimensions: height approx. 3 cm, length 3.55 cm, height with base 4.2 cm Condition: good condition The bronze figurine depicts a Horus falcon in a standing position with its wings close to its body. The bird's body is slightly tilted forward, its head slightly lowered, its beak only schematically indicated. The wings lie close to the body and are modeled in a simplified form. The surface shows a predominantly dark green to black-green patina with a fine-grained structure. The figure is now mounted on a modern wooden base. In ancient Egyptian iconography, the falcon is closely associated with the god Horus and is considered one of the central symbols of royal power, divine order, and protection. Small bronze sculptures of falcons are particularly well documented for the 1st millennium BC and often appear in the context of private piety, as votive offerings, or as apotropaic protective objects. The greatly reduced design and small format of this figure suggest serial production, which is characteristic of the Late Period of Egypt. Provenance: From the former collection of Dr. H. Halter, Switzerland, collected and acquired before 1966. The object has been in the EU since 2006. Please notice: Due to the German Cultural Property Protection Act, an export licence is required for this item for shipment within the EU or to a third country. There is a one-time application fee of €25, which must be paid separately by the buyer. This fee covers the entire application, regardless of how many items are included. We will submit the necessary documents and handle the application process free of charge. The processing time is approximately 7–10 working days. Authenticity: As with all our objects, authenticity is guaranteed without time limitation. Each object is delivered with a signed certificate of authenticity. Protection of cultural property: All objects offered originate from renowned collections and were acquired at art auctions and from estates.
