Erika Lagerbielke is one of Sweden's most renowned designers and glass artists. Her designs and glass art are known and appreciated all over the world. Together with Tom Åhlman, she is the founder and co-owner of the independent design company Erika Lagerbielke & Co AB, where she is the creative director. Lagerbielke's design focuses on innovation and function with a strong artistic expression. Since 1982, she has been creating award-winning glass designs for Orrefors, where she specializes in stemware and products designed to enhance the dining experience. Among her well-known and popular designs are the design classic Intermezzo, the wine glass series Merlot, Metropol, More and the connoisseur wine glass Difference. Lagerbielke has had numerous solo exhibitions internationally. Her glass art is characterized by an interest in creating impressions of light, color and transparency and is recognized for its deep and sensitive connection to classic glass crafts and contemporary innovations. 2022 she created her concept "Blue Planet" with artworks that discuss the significance of water both as an artistic inspiration and from a naturalistic perspective. Erika Lagerbielke works on unique design commissions, such as the bishop's cross for the diocese of Växjö, the rector's regalia for Linnaeus University and the official wedding gift for the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel, a gift from the Swedish Parliament and Government. Her work is both secular and liturgical. She recently designed a baptismal font for the Baroque font in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, United Kingdom, and in 2023 two works for the apse in the Romanesque crypt of Lund Cathedral; the stained glass window "Hope" and the relief "The Well" for the altar. She has been awarded the Prince Eugen Medal for outstanding artistic achievement by the King of Sweden. In 2014, the City of Stockholm awarded her the S:t Erik Medal.
