Montefalco Rosso is one of the wines produced by the Caprai winery, a winery that, in just over forty years, has established itself as a benchmark in Umbria and throughout Italy. In the early 1970s, it was Arnaldo Caprai, a renowned textile entrepreneur with the dream of one day walking among the rows of his own vineyard, who first glimpsed the potential of the terroir surrounding the small town of Montefalco. Today, just a few decades later, under the watchful guidance of his son Marco and thanks to constant research, investment, and experimentation, the area produces truly remarkable red wines, just like this Montefalco Rosso.

Montefalco Rosso is made from a carefully selected Sangiovese grape, with a small percentage of local Sagrantino and Merlot grapes added in equal measure. After meticulous harvesting, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel and then aged for 12 months in Slavonian and French oak barriques. After bottling, it is further aged in bottle for at least four months to achieve the right level of development before being released for sale.

Caprai Montefalco Rosso presents a dark, deep ruby ​​red color with little transparency. The nose reveals a succession of fruity and floral notes, enhanced by spicy hints from the wood aging. On the palate, it is well-bodied and rounded, with well-defined tannins and a pleasantly fresh finish. It's the ideal wine for those who want to delve into the world of great red wines produced by the prestigious Caprai winery.
