Set of two lantern-shaped (chōchin-gata) natsume tea caddies crafted in resin, inspired by traditional Japanese lacquerware used in the tea ceremony. The rounded ribbed form resembles a hanging paper lantern, finished in warm vermilion with contrasting black interiors and lids.
These pieces are modern productions, estimated to date from circa 1990–2015. For categorisation purposes they fall under After 2000, but stylistically they follow classical tea ceremony aesthetics associated with Omotesenke and Urasenke traditions.
Height: approx. 7.5 cm
Diameter: approx. 7.7 cm
There is minor wear consistent with handling and age, but no cracks or chips. Both pieces remain fully functional and display attractively.
A refined, antique-inspired addition to a Japanese tea utensil collection or decorative arts display.
Method of Shipment
FedEx or Japan Post
