This exquisite Kutani ware tea bowl, signed Taigado zo (大雅堂造), represents the refined aesthetic tradition of Kutani ceramics from Ishikawa Prefecture. Carefully handcrafted using traditional techniques, the bowl features a striking deep turquoise ground adorned with intricate gold scrollwork and floral motifs in classic Kutani overglaze enamels.

The exterior displays a luxurious dotted ground technique, creating a rich visual texture that enhances the brilliance of the gold decoration. The upper rim is accented with geometric red and gold patterns, adding a dignified and elegant presence.

The interior is particularly distinguished by calligraphic inscriptions of a waka poem attributed to Sen no Rikyū, the legendary tea master who established the philosophy of wabi-cha. The finely crackled glaze (crazing) across the interior surface is a natural characteristic of high-fired ceramics and enhances its aesthetic depth.

Signed by Taigado, this bowl is suitable for use as a matcha chawan and is also highly appreciable as an artistic display piece. It is accompanied by its original tomobako (signed wooden box).
