Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung

Collector's Icon by Simon Fyodorov Ushakov - Holy Trinity 1671Limited.

Simon Fyodorovich Ushakov was a Russian icon painter.

Together with Fyodor Zubov and Fyodor Rozhnov, he was associated with the comprehensive reform of the Russian Orthodox Church undertaken by Patriarch Nikon.
At the age of 22, he became a paid artist of the Silver Chamber, associated with the Ornithological Order. The bright, fresh colors and graceful, curved lines of his early Baroque icons attracted the attention of Patriarch Nikon, who introduced Simon to Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. He became a great favorite of the royal family and eventually in 1664 was appointed to the Kremlin Armory, run by an educated boyar named Bogdan Khitrovo.

Ushakov also carried out secular orders and made engravings for book illustrations. In other words, he was one of the first secular artists in Russia. Some of his icons, brought to Western Europe, played a key role in awakening interest in the nascent Russian painting. He is considered a pioneer of Western influence in portrait painting and book engravings.

The icon is painted by the author.
The icon is in a limited edition, and there are distinctive marks, stamps and markings that indicate this.
The icon is entirely handmade and in very good condition.
The frame is contemporary and also in good condition.
The icon is exceptional in person.
