Das Stück wurde in einer heute nicht mehr existierenden Spezialwerkstatt gefertigt, die sich der authentischen Rekonstruktion antiker Keramik verschrieben hatte. Dabei wurde nicht einfach dekoriert – sondern konsequent nach historischen Verfahren gearbeitet:

Die Darstellung ist in den Ton eingeritzt und mit flüssigem Tonschlicker (Engobe) ausgeführt, ganz im Sinne der attischen Vasenmalerei der klassischen Zeit. Auch der Brand erfolgte nach traditionellen Methoden.

Besonders bemerkenswert ist die Verwendung von Ton aus den antiken Gruben von Laurion (Attika) – jenem Gebiet, das bereits in der Antike für seine Rohstoffe bekannt war.

Das Gefäß trägt eine griechische Werkstattsignatur: Δημήτριος Ζαχαρόπουλος (Dimitrios Zacharopoulos) und zeugt damit von seiner handwerklichen Herkunft.

Stilistisch orientiert sich das Stück an Vorbildern der spätklassischen Periode (4. Jahrhundert v. Chr., Athen) – einer Zeit, in der die attische Keramik ihre besondere Eleganz und Ausdruckskraft erreichte.

The piece was created in a now-defunct workshop dedicated to the authentic reconstruction of ancient ceramics, where traditional craftsmanship was preserved rather than imitated. It is not merely decorated – it was produced following historical techniques:

The decoration is incised into the clay and executed using liquid clay slip (engobe), closely reflecting the methods of Attic vase painting. The firing process was also carried out using traditional techniques.

Particularly noteworthy is the use of clay sourced from the ancient Laurion mines (Attica) – the very region renowned in antiquity for its natural resources.

The vessel bears a Greek workshop signature: Δημήτριος Ζαχαρόπουλος (Dimitrios Zacharopoulos), attesting to its handcrafted origin.

Stylistically, the piece is inspired by the late Classical period (4th century BC, Athens) – a time when Attic pottery reached a high level of elegance and artistic expression.
