A very rare title about Mexican photography.

"The Power of the Image and the Image of Power" (El poder de la imagen y la imagen del poder) is a significant book published by the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (UACh) in 1985. This work is a critical visual history of Mexico told through press photography. It covers images from the Porfiriato (the era of Porfirio Díaz) through the late 20th century and features iconic photography from the Casasola Archive, including historical milestones like the Mexican Revolution and the inauguration of the Mexico City Metro. The book analyzes how visual language has been used to construct, reinforce, and project political authority and national identity in Mexico.

Condition: very good softcover, minor sings of handling and some soiling on cover, interior clean and unmarked, no stains or foxing (which is rare for the high humidity in Latin America).
