CLAMP is a collective of four Japanese women artists known for influential titles such as X, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Cardcaptor Sakura. Their style is instantly recognizable: elegant characters, fine linework, and dynamic, highly decorative compositions.
Cardcaptor Sakura is one of their most celebrated works, originally serialized between 1996 and 2000 in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, and adapted in 1998 into one of the decade’s most successful anime series. This poster (70 × 50 cm) was produced in 1998 under license from Kodansha and edited by 1000 Editions, printed in Spain.
An interesting anecdote: CLAMP were famous for their unusual creative workflow—often developing the story week by week without a fully written script. In Cardcaptor Sakura, this spontaneous approach led to many iconic scenes and to Sakura’s wide variety of costumes, one of the most beloved features among fans.
