Dutch Silver Miniature Ceremonial Carriage with Horses – JOW , ca. 1955

Finely crafted Dutch silver miniature ceremonial carriage, made in the Netherlands around 1955 by silversmith hallmarked but can not find it JOW I think. Zn, C.A. Rotterdam, a registered Dutch silversmith.

The piece is executed in solid silver, 835/1000 standard, confirmed by the Dutch hallmark of the sword. The miniature depicts an elegant horse-drawn carriage, richly detailed with coach body, wheels, coachman and a team of horses.

Notably, the carriage is surmounted by a crown, indicating a ceremonial or royal-inspired design rather than an everyday coach. Such crowned carriages were commonly used in Dutch silver miniatures of the mid-20th century to evoke royal, court or state symbolism, especially in commemorative and decorative objects.
