Where it is made (country) – Japan (Made in Japan)

Serial number (if applicable) – A027800 (stamped on the bridge plate). Note: Fender Japan Telecaster "A" serials are not year-encoded; exact year cannot be determined. Neck pocket is stamped "TL52-75."

Type of wood body/neck – Body: ash (vom Vorbesitzer); Neck: maple with maple fingerboard

Type of tuners – Gotoh/Lawrence-type tuners (appear to be replaced – not the original vintage-style tuners)

Type of pickups – Bridge: single-coil (appears original). Neck: DiMarzio DP155 (USA-made humbucker – replacement, confirmed by sticker)

Whether parts have been replaced – Yes. The neck (front) pickup has been replaced with a USA-made DiMarzio DP155 humbucker, and the pickguard has been changed accordingly (routed/cut for the humbucker). The tuners also appear to have been replaced (Lawrence-marked). The bridge single-coil appears original.

Whether there is any damage – Yes (cosmetic). The metal hardware (bridge plate, brass saddles, control plate, jack) shows tarnish, oxidation and wear. Fret ends show some green oxidation. No structural damage or cracks in the wood.

Whether repairs are needed – No repairs needed for playability; the guitar plays and functions correctly. Please note: the truss rod has limited remaining adjustment room (mostly tightened). Frets have roughly 60–70% life remaining.

◉Condition Description

This is a Fender Japan Telecaster, model TL52-75 (a '52 Telecaster reissue), made in Japan in Butterscotch Blonde. The model designation "TL52-75" is stamped in the neck pocket, and the serial A027800 is stamped on the bridge plate. Please note that Fender Japan Telecaster "A" serials are not year-encoded, and no legible neck date is present, so the exact year of manufacture cannot be confirmed – it is most likely from the 1980s–90s Made in Japan era. This is an honest, well-played vintage instrument with several modifications, offered in fair cosmetic condition.

Modifications: The neck (front) pickup has been replaced with a genuine USA-made DiMarzio DP155 humbucker (confirmed by the sticker on the pickup), and the pickguard has been changed to accommodate it. The tuners also appear to have been replaced (Lawrence-marked). The bridge single-coil pickup appears to be original. These modifications are disclosed for full transparency; the DiMarzio DP155 is a well-regarded pickup and a desirable upgrade for many players.

Cosmetic condition: As a vintage, well-used instrument, it shows its age honestly. The body finish has extensive weather checking / lacquer cracking (fine crazing lines) across the surface, along with numerous scratches – some deeper – and general playwear. The metal hardware (bridge plate, brass saddles, control plate, jack, tuners) shows tarnish, oxidation and wear throughout. The maple fingerboard shows playwear with the finish worn through to bare wood in places. None of this affects playability.

Neck & frets: The neck is reported to be generally straight and the guitar plays correctly. Importantly, the truss rod has limited remaining adjustment room (mostly tightened) – please take this into account. The frets have roughly 60–70% life remaining overall (lower positions show more wear than the middle), with some green oxidation on the fret ends. Still fully playable with no fretwork required.

Electronics: Fully functional. All pickups, the pickup selector switch, and the volume and tone controls work correctly with no issues in normal use.

Weight: 4.4 kg.

Accessories: None included (guitar only).
