Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Titel: Jesus Christus, der Bußfertige
Schule: Italienische Schule (XVII.)
Stil: Barock
Technik: Öl auf Leinwand (Relining, neu aufgezogen)
Magnifikate Komposition religiösen Themas, belonging to the Italian school of the XVII century, executed within the Baroque aesthetic. The work represents Jesus Christ in penitential attitude, seated and with the torso bare, covered only by a white purity cloth. His head is surrounded by a luminous halo that emphasizes his divine nature, while he directs a low and serene gaze that conveys recollection, resignation and deep spirituality.
The anatomy is treated with great naturalism, highlighting the modeling of the body through refined use of chiaroscuro. On the skin one can notice small bleeding wounds that allude to the Passion of Christ, reinforcing the devotional character of the scene. The tenebrist lighting concentrates attention on the main figure, which emerges with force from a dark background, a characteristic resource of Italian Baroque painting.
The composition presents a sober color palette dominated by blacks, ochres, earth tones and whites, achieving a marked contrast between illuminated areas and shadows. The brushwork is careful and precise, contributing to the sensation of volume and depth. It is a work conceived for religious contemplation and meditation, following the Counter-Reformation tradition of Italian painting of the XVII century.
The work has been relined and, since it is a painting dating before the XX century, presents restorations, ordinary interventions aimed at ensuring its proper conservation over time.
Observaciones:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will need photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by extra charges due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not bear this extra charge in any case.
Due to border issues with Switzerland we are obliged to inform that shipments with more than 1 meter in length or height to that destination will not be carried out.
