Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Collection of 20 Matched Pairs of Sectioned Cleoniceras Ammonites, 40 Pieces, with Cymatoceras
An attractive and well-presented collection of 20 matched pairs of sectioned and polished Cleoniceras ammonites, for a total of 40 individual pieces, arranged in a fitted display box.
The collection consists predominantly of Cleoniceras ammonites, with the addition of one Cymatoceras specimen, providing an interesting variation within the group.
Each fossil has been cut and polished to reveal its internal structure, displaying the elegant spiral geometry, chamber divisions, and natural mineralization characteristic of these ancient marine cephalopods. Some specimens show subtle crystalline development within the chambers, while others stand out for the contrast between the darker fossil shell and the lighter internal sections.
The specimens are generally similar in size, giving the collection a balanced and harmonious appearance, while natural variations in colour, shape, and preservation make each pair unique.
The inclusion of the Cymatoceras specimen adds further scientific and visual interest, offering a comparison between two different Cretaceous cephalopod forms.
Dimensions:
Largest half: 4.3 × 3.4 cm
Smallest half: 3.8 × 3.1 × 0.5 cm
Thickest Cymatoceras specimen: 1.4 cm
Display box included.
