Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
A miniature form Qur'anic bi-folio from a dispersed Ottoman Qur'an C.1825 in elegant naskh script with gold verse roundels. The right hand age closes Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), 2:283-286, culminating in the deeply cherished closing verses of supplication, "Our Lord, do not burden us...pardon us, forgive und, and have mercy on us". This is one of the most recited passages in Muslim devotional life.
A resplendent gold-ground title panel then announced Chapter 3, Surat Al Imran, it's heading rendered in white thuluth script and flanked by painted palette finials that project across to the margins. The left folio then opens the surf with the bismillah supplication.
This is a fine example of an Ottoman court production, where scribal precision and jewel-like illumination combine to mark the sacred transition between surahs.
Each folio is of the dimension described above. The overall dimension of the offer is 20x24.5cm.
