Heide Warlamis – Vienna Collection – Sculptural Porcelain Object

A striking and highly distinctive porcelain design object by Austrian designer Heide Warlamis, created as part of her renowned Vienna Collection.

The sculptural composition combines angular geometric forms, curved elements and a separate spherical component. The white glazed porcelain is decorated with Warlamis’ characteristic black geometric graphics, creating a playful yet highly architectural appearance.

The Vienna Collection was developed by Heide Warlamis from 1981 onwards and became internationally recognized for its combination of Viennese design tradition with avant-garde and postmodern influences. Warlamis established the Vienna Collection porcelain manufactory in Schrems, Austria, in 1985, where the demanding porcelain designs were produced.

Her work is represented in important museum collections, including the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts Vienna, the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt, and other international collections. Museum documentation identifies Vienna Collection pieces by Warlamis as postmodern design and records their production in porcelain with glazed and screen-printed decoration.

The underside of this piece carries the Vienna Collection / Heide Warlamis maker’s mark and facsimile signature.
