Vintage Midcentury Replogle Terrestrial Globe – World Ocean Series, Dual Axis, Raised Relirfan
This is a Replogle World Ocean Series terrestrial globe mounted on a dual-axis articulating stand. The globe was manufactured in the 1970s and includes raised relief to indicate topographical elevations on land.
The surface of the globe displays geopolitical boundaries, country names, major cities, and oceanographic details such as mid-ocean ridges, trenches, and depth contours. Latitude and longitude lines are clearly marked. The oceans are shaded in varying tones of blue to reflect depth.
The globe is held by a full meridian ring made of brass, allowing it to tilt and spin on two axes. The meridian is attached to a wooden vertical pedestal, which tapers downward and is anchored to a circular metal base for stability.
Height: Approx. 35–40 inches
Base diameter: Approx. 12 inches
Globe diameter: Approx. 12–16 inches (standard for this model)
Condition:
• Globe surface shows minor signs of wear, including light scuffs and small surface scratches consistent with age and handling
• Stand and base are structurally sound with light patina on the metal and slight finish wear on the wood
•. The globe is slightly loose at the base, but remains stable and secure when standing.
