1. Introduction A full-size violin labeled Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1713 – Made in Czechoslovakia, produced in the mid-20th century for the European student and workshop market. Offered here as a restoration project. 2. Historical and Artistic Context During the interwar and post-war decades, Czech and Bohemian workshops became renowned for crafting affordable yet well-proportioned Stradivari-model violins. These instruments often display meticulous varnish work and precise arching, reflecting the enduring influence of Cremonese design across Central Europe. 3. Craftsmanship and Materials This violin features a two-piece flamed maple back with a vivid orange-brown transparent varnish and a straight-grained spruce top. The scroll and neck are hand-carved, showing typical workshop finesse. The purfling remains intact and finely inlaid, with elegant f-holes characteristic of the Stradivari pattern. 4.
