Sado(Signed) Takeji Iwamiya Asahi newspaper company/1962/Japanese/365*265*30 Sado / Sado” is a collection of photographs by Takeji Iwamiya, one of Japan's leading photographers. Takeji Iwamiya is a leading figure in the postwar Kansai photography world. His pupils include Seiryu Inoue, a leading Kansai photographer known for “Kamagasaki” and “Amami,” who was assisted by Daido Moriyama in the past, and Yasushi Sugino, who left behind a masterpiece, “Kokkakukei” (Landscape of the Heart), which has left its mark in Japanese photography history, despite his limited output. His masterpiece is the “Katachi” series, which depicts the functional and traditional beauty of Japan. Through architectural structures such as shrines and temples, and everyday utensils such as kimonos, Iwamiya has depicted the traditional beauty of Japanese objects, including the beauty of history, the beauty of function, the beauty of form, and the beauty of color. This book is a collection of Iwamiya's “Sado” works, which can be said to be his masterpiece along with “Kata-chi”. For Iwamiya, who was born in Tottori Prefecture and grew up viewing the Oki Islands from the mainland, Sado was also a place that nurtured a love for the islands. Limited to 2,000 copies. (Included in The Japanese Photobook 1912-1990)
