Artist: Kawamura Kogai 河村虹外 (1861-1932) Artist Profile: Hailing from Fukui Prefecture, born in the inaugural year of the Bunkyū (文久) era. Trained under the Nanga (南画Southern painting ) master Shige Shuntō (重春塘) and resided in Kyoto. Garnered numerous awards at the Kyoto New and Old Art Exhibition as well as the Japan Youth Painting Exhibition. Played a key role in establishing the Japan Nanga Association. Excelled in refined landscape paintings.
