Long-tailed Tit Taxidermie-Ganzkörpermontage - Aegithalos caudatus - 19 cm - 13 cm - 10 cm

Long-tailed Tit – Aegithalos caudatus – In excellent condition – No reserve Imagine a soft morning light falling across a rustic wooden console, and this delicate Long-tailed Tit perched gracefully on its sculptural branch. With its unmistakably elegant silhouette and exceptionally long tail, it brings a poetic, interior-styled presence to any room. A high-end quality piece that adds both warmth and natural refinement to contemporary and classic spaces alike. A beautifully preserved Long-tailed Tit mounted on a naturalistic base, dating from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Mounted legally and professionally in the Netherlands in accordance with the 1936 Bird Act by high-end taxidermist R. Knol in Sint Maartensdijk. The metal ring visible on the leg is a typical bird-ring from the 1970s–1980s, issued by ornithological organisations or breeders for identification and research. These rings contain coded information such as the organisation’s abbreviation, the breeder’s or ringer’s unique number, the year code, and a sequential identification number. Period: Late 1970s – early 1980s Historical context The Long-tailed Tit has long been appreciated across Europe for its gentle appearance and distinctive tail, which often exceeds the length of its body. Its rounded form and subtle pastel tones inspired numerous nature illustrators and early-20th-century decorative artists. In the 1970s and 1980s, small passerines like this one were commonly mounted for educational and ornithological collections, reflecting a period of renewed interest in field biology and environmental awareness.
