A large art board painted by Ferdinando Tacconi for the rear cover feature 'Down to The Black Sea', Look & Learn #68

This is a large art board measuring 43 x 57 cm and features 7 paintings pasted onto the board.

The paintings include Michael the Brave, a Rumanian warrior chosen to chase the Turks from their land in 1593 / Paintings of pottery and local craft / A Battle between Hungarians and Turks / Subterranean caverns / Ship repairing centre on the Danube/ and at Galatz, the tomb of a Russian youth who was tied to the back of a horse and sent across the Steppes, seen here tied to the horse.

The board these paintings are pasted to is not in the best condition and a small part of the last painting seems to be missing, and the piece remaining has a tear- this small piece must have been painted in two pieces and has fallen off, however the other painted areas are in very good condition as is clear from the photographs.

A photocopy of the published comic page will be included with the winning Lot.
