une des représentations les plus anciennes et vénérées de la Mère de Dieu dans la tradition byzantine et russe. 
 Elle est ici figurée en buste, le Christ Emmanuel apparaissant dans un médaillon au centre de son torse – symbolisant l’Incarnation.
 
 L’icône est recouverte d’un oklad (riza) en laiton repoussé et gravé, finement décoré de motifs floraux et de rayonnements symboliques, mettant en valeur la composition centrale et les huit anges entourant la Vierge. Ceux-ci sont disposés en éventail, dans des segments triangulaires évoquant la mandorle céleste. Le fond est orné d’un foisonnement de détails gravés : étoiles, instruments de la Passion (notamment l’échelle et la lance visibles sur les gros plans), ainsi qu’une inscription en cyrillique au bas de l’icône. Les lettres MP ΘΥ dans les coins supérieurs désignent “Μήτηρ Θεοῦ” (Mère de Dieu). La peinture sous la riza est partiellement visible, avec des rehauts rouges et noirs encore lisibles malgré quelques usures anciennes.
