Rare artist's book-object book published on the occasion of the exhibition held in Milan, in the Galleria Ammiraglio Acton, on March 16, 1994.

Hardcover, format 17 x 35 cm, with a chess board inside composed of 64 alternating squares and 34 profiled pieces trimmed hardcover, Unknown edition.  

With biographical text of the artist on one of its pages. Quotes and drawings by Duchamp in some boxes on the "board". Amazing object.
 
Marcel Duchamp often used the theme of chess in his works. He was also a great chess player. He participated in the French championships from 1924 to 1928 and also in four Chess Olympiads from 1928 to 1933. Chess was considered by the artist as a driver of the idea of (conceptual) art beyond the retinal contemplation of the artistic object.
