This photograph is part of the DarkSide series. It has obtained many international awards (IPA, MIFA, TIFA) and has been exhibited in France (Salon des Beaux Art de Garches, Puls'Art, Réalités Nouvelles) and abroad (USA, Italy, India).
 
Xavier Blondeau's photographs look like puzzles. Bodies are fragmented, blurred, they reveal themselves or go into hiding, they feint and circumvent to tell a different story. But what is there to tell? First of all, impressions: in the Darkside series, the furtive happiness of an apparition, that of a fragment of lonely landscape wrenched from darkness [..] What is really left of the body is the eroticism of this skin, which, though photographed very modestly, seems as soft as a caress, as delicate as a whisper. By becoming only pure form, pure image composition, its surface expresses the unfathomable which lies beneath, but refuses to name it. It simply attracts everyone's gaze, and this attraction is like a metamorphosis.
